Moore - page 4

James Monroe Moore II was born August 17, 1878 in Tunnel Hill, Johnson County, Illinois, and died December 20, 1960 in Herrin, Williamson County, Illinois. He was the son of Gardner Moore and Mary Elizabeth Stonum Moore. He married Delia Kincannon October 06, 1913, daughter of James Marion Kincannon (August 19, 1867 - November 17, 1945) and Pruella Washington Mathis (May 6, 1866 - March 21, 1950). Delia was born August 16, 1892 in Bloomfield Township, Johnson County, Illinois, and died January 13, 1977 in Herrin, Williamson County, Illinois. This is James Monroe Moore II. There is a tradition in the family of naming sons for uncles. His father, Gardner, named him after his brother, James Monroe Moore I. Gardner named William Granville Moore after his brother, Granville Moore. James Monroe Moore I named his son, William Gardner Moore, for his brother Gardner. Naming patterns are another method to unlock relationships in earlier generations. The children of James & Delia Moore were Everett Carl Moore, Raymond Robert Moore, and Earl Leon Moore.
There may have been seven children in the family of James & Pruella Kincannon, but more research is required: twins Ulysses Kincannon and Eunice Estella Kincannon (born 14 May 1887), Delia Kincannon Moore (16 Aug 1892 - 13 Jan 1977), Elizabeth Kincannon (born Sep 1899), Hewey B. Kincannon (1902 – 1971), Elvira E. Kincannon (born 1906), and Marian Beatrice Kincannon (24 Dec 1907 - 28 Sep 1994).
