1876 Biography - James L. Wymore
Col. James Luther Wymore, son of George and Ann Wymore, born in Montgomery County, Kentucky, June 4, 1825. He is mostly self-educated, having taught school and studied law in Murray, Kentucky, where he was also Lieutenant Colonel and Colonel of the Twenty-eighth Kentucky Regiment. In 1854, he was elected Prosecuting Attorney for Calloway County, Kentucky, and reelected in 1858. In 1868, he became a citizen of Johnson County, Illinoi, and in 1872, wes elected to represent the Fifty-first District in the State Legislature, serving in both sessions of the Twenty-eighth General Assembly. He has held several other small offices, but is now retired to his farm and to private life, unmarried.
