Gurley Cemetery
SE 1/4 of SW 1/4 Section 32
To reach this cemetery from Goreville, follow the directions for Craig Cemetery. Instead of going down the lane to Craig, stay on Happy Hollow Road for another 2.2 miles. The road will be paved until just past Perry Cemetery when it becomes a gravel road. There will be a blue stock gate with enough room to pull off the road. It will be necessary to climb over the gate. Follow the woods keeping the edge of the woods to the right to find the cemetery which is located on a rise. We were told by Delonda Robinson that this was a family plot with only two burials in it. It is cleaned out and fenced in with a new chain-link fence. The two burials were found with three markers-two for Anson Gurley. Vic and Jim Hancock keep the cemetery mowed and cleaned out.
